Nutrition

Good nutrition plays an important role in sports performance and
achieving fitness goals. The energy from the foods we eat is used
to fuel our body's activities. A balanced diet is essential when
training and deficiencies in diet will inhibit performance.

Nutritional guidelines are as complex as training itself. Each
person metabolizes food differently and the effect of these foods
varies among males, females, diabetics and individuals with
certain allergies. Foods do not always supply the necessary level
of nutrients, which may make supplements necessary, especially
for those in training to meet targeted performance goals. As part
of my training or consulting package, I will provide information on
diet and suggested supplements to be used with your physician's
approval.

FSE clients will benefit from access to resources such a DEXA
Scan (Dual-Energy X-Ray Absorptiometry) that measures the
number of calories your body burns daily and a 95% accurate
body fat, bone density test. This information is useful in
developing an individualized plan on your daily calorie intake,
whether you are trying to gain strength or lean
out.
